THE BEEN COLOUR PALETTE: RAINFOREST GREEN

THE BEEN COLOUR PALETTE: RAINFOREST GREEN

In the heart of our creative journey lies nature, a constant source of inspiration for us here at BEEN London. Nature is the driving force behind our commitment to preserve the environment and its delicate ecosystems. We understand that waste wreaks havoc on our planet, and we've chosen to stand firmly on the side of the solution, channelling our efforts into repurposing what already exists by diverting waste from landfills.

Reflecting our commitment to this cause, we turn 'waste' into a rainbow of colour, with our palettes inspired by the natural world, such as our Rainforest Green.

Let’s Talk Rainforest Green!

A bold, verdant shade that echoes the lush, thriving greens of the world's precious rainforests, this shade of green can be found throughout our recent and older collections.

Rainforests are not just lush green canvases; they are essential pillars of our global ecosystem. They release oxygen and absorb carbon from the atmosphere, purify the air we breathe, regulate the Earth's intricate water cycles, and harbour an astonishing array of biodiversity, encompassing nearly half of our planet's plant and animal species.

Moreover, rainforests are guardians against the looming climate crisis, a crisis whose impacts continue to intensify. Yet, these vital ecosystems are threatened. Deforestation threatens the Amazon, the Congo, Kalimantan, Sumatra, and countless other irreplaceable rainforests. Man-made fires, fuelled by the pursuit of short-term economic gains, have torn through these forests, from palm oil plantations in Indonesia to soy and cattle farms in Brazil.

In 2021, scientists uncovered a startling truth – parts of the Amazon now emit more carbon than they can absorb. This revelation highlights the undeniable cost of exploiting these natural treasures for immediate profits – a price that our planet, and its future, cannot afford to pay.

Amidst the vastness of this challenge, we at BEEN London stand determined to be part of the solution. In 2020, we joined hands with Tree-Nation and embarked on a journey to support Camino Verde, a Peru-based NGO. Together, we've planted over 828 trees in forests across the globe, a step towards capturing over 160 tonnes of CO2 and breathing life back into our invaluable ecosystems.

When you support us, you're supporting reforestation initiatives. With every product we sell, a tree takes root, offering hope for a greener, more sustainable future.

Our mission is simple – to create joyful, timeless accessories that neither burden our planet nor add to the piles of waste in landfills. Our approach is to reimagine the very essence of creation, showing what's possible by the use of innovative recycled materials and focusing on creating a positive impact in everything we do.
