ABOUT THE COLLABORATION

A shared commitment to timeless craftsmanship and innovation brought us together with France's leading luxury playing cards makers Grimaud. We were commissioned to develop and manufacture a line of handcrafted accessories for the game. Rooted in heritage and material innovation, this collaboration celebrates the intersection of tradition and modernity.

THE MATERIALS

For this project, we chose AppleSkin TM and Recycled Lining, both Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified materials that are fully traceable.

Apple Skin is derived from residual apple waste from the juicing industry, and has a carbon footprint 79.24% lower than virgin leather.

The luxurious suede-like lining is also produced in Italy from pre-consumer fabric off-cuts from the manufacturing of Polyamide fabrics for clothing, flags, umbrellas, and windbreakers.

SOCIAL IMPACT

To make the collection, we partnered with Laboratorio Cariera, a member of the UN Ethical Fashion Initiative. This social enterprise supports migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees by providing  them with training and employment opportunities in their area.

The manufacturing of this collection has created almost 600 hours of employment.

LOW CO2 SOUCING

We've always been very mindful about keeping the project’s CO2 emissions to a minimum. That’s why for this project we selected a supply chain located completely in Italy. The journey from raw material to manufcaturer covered only 83 Km.
