Modern Synthesis is a biomaterial company that specializes on textile production from specialising in the growth of textiles from microbes.
Modern Synthesis
Modern Synthesis creates its innovative by feeding agricultural sugars to microbes. The microbes convert the sugars into nanocellulose, a powerful, natural fibre that is a key material building block. Through a collaborative platform that merges biology, engineering, materials science, and textile craft, Modern Synthesis is developing alternatives to animal- and petrochemical-derived fabrics.

We worked together with Modern Synthesis to create several showcase pieces including a version of our Cecilia Crossbody Bag and Vyner Clutch
