MADE IN EAST LONDON
OUR WORKSHOP
Hidden away in London’s East End, the workshop where we make our bags is only a stone's throw away from the BEEN London studio.
A collaboration from start to finish, we work hand-in-hand to combine traditional craftsmanship with innovation to ensure each and every piece is made with careful design and meticulous attention to detail.
At the beginning of our journey we found one of London’s last bag-makers and we have been supporting their craftsmanship ever since.
We believe it's so important to support local skills and techniques that have stood the test of time.
Providing jobs for people in our community and paying a fair wage is the bare minimum any of us can do.
Choosing to manufacture locally opposed to overseas was an easy decision to make. Not only allowing for complete transparency, it ensures every product’s carbon footprint is kept to a minimum.
…and we’d be lying if we said we didn’t enjoy the walk to visit them too!
Every member of the BEEN London team shares the intention to have a real, measurable impact on the fashion industry by proving that waste can become beautiful.
Sharing our love for innovation and enthusiasm to work with new (and sometimes unusual!) recycled materials, we feel very lucky to have our workshop as our extended BEEN London family.
We make our bags to last, we make them to be repairable and we make them recyclable. Like you, we don’t want them going into landfill.
We work closely with our workshop to offer free repairs to all of our bags when they need a little TLC a few years down the line, but we also design with end of life in mind. This means using stitching instead of glue allowing us to easily recycle each part of the bag.
